Understanding cheap and really cheap. The definition for cheap is quality at a reasonable price. Really cheap is the least amount of features and support at the lowest possible price.

Two questions I ask when considering a cheap camera are.

What price is acceptable to me?

Is the purpose just to have video of a specific area or do I need to record the video as well?

A USB spy camera cost very little. Cheap spy cameras are all in one cameras such as a video pen camera are one of the cheapest body worn cameras on the market. The USB cameras are very easy to use. All you have to do is take a picture and plug the USB into a computer. The software and video are all on the USB. When plugged into the USB port on the computer the software is set up and the video can be transferred to your computer. Anybody can do this. The cameras are also a lot of fun.

Another cheap camera is the wireless camera. The camera transmits a signal to a TV or monitor. The prices begin from around forty dollars and go up based upon the features of the camera. For a little more expense a DVR can be added to the cost and then the video is recorded according to the settings available within the DVR.

Cheap spy cameras also include wireless IP router cameras. A wireless IP camera comes with many different features. The features range from Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) to having the ability to speak and hear anyone in the area of recording. With a microphone on the camera the person being recorded also has the ability to speak to anyone on the receiving end of the communication. The wireless IP Camera also has the feature of being able to record to the computer or view the observation area at a remote computer. Wireless IP cameras can be purchased for around $200.00 depending upon the features. Prices are always changing. The best way to obtain a cheap camera is to know the make model and features of the camera and search the internet for the best possible price. When searching the cheapest price do not forget about eBay and Amazon.

Carrier current systems (Plug them into an outlet) are not as flexible. I have not seen PTZ available in current carrier systems. Carrier current systems provide for a very clear picture that is not affected by any outside interference. The signal transfers through the electrical system and can be recorded to a computer. Remote viewing is available on a high speed internet connected computer.

Carrier current cameras are one of the cheapest systems with good quality reception on the market. Search the internet to find the best price that will fit into the budget designated for the purchase. When comparing price and cameras make sure the system contains the same features and support. Having a phone number to call and some kind of warranty makes for a confident purchase.

Cheap spy cameras are possible to a cautious consumer taking time to compare cost and features.

Getting a surveillance system in place was difficult because of all the equipment needed, knowledge needed to make sure you got the right equipment, the time required to install it and of course the expense. That is why until recently the only folks who could do this type of work were the government or law enforcement.

Thanks to technological advancements there are some nifty new products in the marketplace that have a camera and DVR built into numerous household or office type products. Some that are “body worn” even have a microphone for audio recording.

These all inclusive cameras with built in DVR take all that guesswork out of the equation.

The household/office products use an 8 GB SD card to record images just like your digital camera. The many features include motion activated and scheduled recording, motion detection area masking, remote control operation and date time stamp.

Point the camera in the direction you want to record and using the remote start recording up to 144 hours depending on speed and resolution selected.

Once you record playback is simple. Take the SD card out and insert it into your computer’s card reader or you can use the RCA cable to hook it up to your TV. How easy is that?

The cameras come in many common items like an alarm clock, wall clocks, exit sign, desk lamp, boom box, air purifier and more. Most are functioning products to make the deception more realistic.

The body worn products are a ball point pen, wrist watch, car key fob and a stick hidden camera that is about the size of a pack of gum. Their recording capabilities and resolution vary depending on product.

When you need the best in DVR surveillance cameras – this is it.

In today’s times, having a complete surveillance system has become essential in almost all situations.

Components of a Complete Surveillance System

Understanding what a complete surveillance system consists of will help you determine if such a system is appropriate for your home or workplace.

Entry Alarms

These alarms should be attached to every possible entry point within your property. This includes but isn’t limited to doors, windows, chimneys, and any other space that a person could squeeze himself into and gain access to your home.

This is the first line of protection for your property. If any of these is triggered, all other components of your surveillance system will be activated.

Motion Alarms

These devices will sound an alarm or activate other security component of your surveillance system when it detects movement in the area it is monitoring. Barking dog alarms are particularly effective for deterring criminals. The barking noise they make increase in proportion to the shortening distance of the intruder from the alarm.

Floodlights

The best system allows floodlights to automatically switch on if light levels diminish or when movement has been detected by an integrated motion-sensing alarm. These are no ordinary lights and their beams are powerful enough to provide you a clear view of your entire yard, maybe even determine the identities of your intruders if they linger long enough.

Surveillance Cameras

There are many types of surveillance cameras and each and every one of them has their respective uses. Outdoor cameras are designed to work in all kinds of weather. Pinhole cameras may be hidden in various objects like piggy banks, pens, stuffed toys, and other things that would not have looked out of place in your home or office. Decoy cameras may be used to mislead intruders about the actual location of your real security cameras and valuables.

Features for surveillance cameras vary so it’s important that you take note of what your home or office needs to combat every possible security threat. A complete surveillance system requires surveillance cameras that can record images or footage in full color during the day and sharply defined black and white images at night. They must also come with their own IP address to allow you to watch real-time or previous footage wherever you may be.

Monitor and Recorder

Last but not the least, the surveillance cameras must be linked to a monitor, allowing you to view what’s happening in any part of your home or workplace, as well as recorder, to obtain a hard copy of your recordings.
