We have to accept a cruel fact that burglaries happen every day in United States. At the same time, fire accidents also happen quite frequently nowadays. Home is no longer a safe place if we do not take proper precaution steps. We may suffer great losses, both financially (cash and jewelries) as well as emotionally (our sweet memories in the form of photos and videos). Seriously speaking, we can avoid ourselves from all these unfortunate incidents if we take the initiative to prevent them. Placing a burglary fire safe at home is a wise choice. You can keep all your valuable items and important things in the safe and get them protected by this special tool.

Let me show you how this burglary fire safe works.

· In general, all the burglary fire-proof safes are manufactured to sustain heat up to 1700 degrees for about one hour. Basically these safes are in the form of containers with different designs and sizes. They are fire resistant and they protect all the items from being damaged by the fire. The materials used to produce the safes are unique. Two of the most common materials used are perlite and vermiculite. For your information, perlite and vermiculite are lightweight materials and they are inert. They won’t burn unless the temperatures reach extreme degrees. As a result, those papers and plastic items which are kept in the safes are safeguarded even under the high temperature. You don’t need to worry that the heat could burn up your important documents. However, you need to take note that different safes have different resistance levels and the ratings of the safes are different too. You can check the ratings of the safes with the Underwriters Laboratories before making your decision. You are reminded to select the right safe which suits your requirement most.

· Besides protecting the contents from fire, these safes also help to prevent theft and burglary. The safes are designed to keep the intruders out and protect your money and precious items in case of a break-in. It can be requested to come with different locking mechanisms according to different individual needs. Different options are offered, such as key lock, combination lock, digital lock or fingerprint lock. As a smart consumer, you need to bear in mind that a fire resistant safe is not necessarily burglary proof. You need to make sure that the safe you choose offers protection for both. Besides checking the fire resistance rating, you must also check the cash rating to ensure that it meets your personal needs.

Prevention is the best medicine. Both break-ins and fire accidents can be prevented if we get ourselves well prepared with the necessary tools. Protect your documents, photos, jewelries, cash, antiques and anything else that you can’t afford to lose in a burglary fire-proof safe. Although getting a safe doesn’t guarantee that you can keep all your precious items SAFE FOREVER, you have at least minimized your financial risk. At the same time, your personal safety also is being well taken care of.

You don’t have to worry much about getting your items stolen if you’ve placed your stuff at the right place. Therefore, it’s time for you to consider getting yourself a fireproof safe.

In my personal point of view, every household needs a fireproof wall safe. It is a MUST. I believe everyone has his or her own important items at home which he or she can’t afford to lose. In order to protect all these precious items from fire accidents, a wall safe is definitely required. This safe is far more convenient than using a safe deposit box at the banks.

In common, most of us keep our birth certificates, passports, wills, legal documents, cash, jewelries, photos, videos, etc at home. By having a proper wall safe, all these paper documents will be well protected and you will have a peaceful mind. Isn’t it troublesome and time consuming for you to replace your passport, birth certificate, car grant or land grant when they turn into ashes during the fire accidents? Even if there is no fire emergency, all these items must be stored carefully in order to prevent them from being stolen and misused in crimes. Furthermore, some of the items mentioned are priceless and they can’t be replaced at all when they get burnt. For instance, you can’t get back all your photos taken during your childhood once they are burnt.

In order to prevent yourself from suffering such losses, it is important for you to install a fireproof wall safe at home. In common, there are various types of wall safes. They are different in terms of sizes, designs, functions, locking systems, etc. Most safes are designed to fit between the standard stud spacing of 16 inches on centers. There are some with 14 inches opening. If you just need the safe to keep all the important papers, and jewelries, a smaller safe will be sufficient for you. However, if you are a gun owner and you need to store your firearms, may be you need a bigger space.

Before you make up your mind, you should consider different options available in the market. There are many locking systems which suit different people’s need, such as electronic locks, recesses doors, concealed mount, window lock, and so on. A basic wall safe is just like a locking metal box with key access. If you want to be more secured, you are recommended to get an electronic wall safe which requires power connection. You need to apply special codes in order to open the safe.

In order to protect all your precious possessions, it is important for you to plan where to locate your wall safe. What you need to do is to identify the safe location at your home carefully. It can be in a closet or behind the door. You just need to make sure that the location you choose is able to avoid attention from people.

To sum up, having this type of safe at home is considered getting an extra layer of protection for your valuables as it helps to prevent fire, flood, thefts and burglaries. You just need to invest on one safe and you can safeguard all your important items from the unfortunate events. You don’t need to incur additional cost to get other home security system. Isn’t it cost effective?

You don’t have to worry much about getting your items stolen if you’ve placed your stuff at the right place. Therefore, it’s time for you to consider getting yourself a fireproof safe.

I’ve been thinking long and hard about environmental issues and I’m really pleased that we now have recycling in our area, with green bins for garden refuse, small bins for food waste, and special boxes for cardboard, paper and glass. I live in a built up area prone to break-ins, however, what I love about my new system is that they are always developing new applications and in future I’ll be able to monitor all my home appliances, even draw the curtains, programme lights to go on and off and install home security video cameras. The alerts are easy, they come to me via email, text and Twitter and I can see if any burglar has tripped a switch on the alarm system. I can’t wait for the energy usage system, it will help me save money and it will help me reduce my carbon footprint. It’s certainly been money very well invested.

DIY Alarm Systems have become far more sophisticated. Fully wireless home and secure burglar alarm systems can be monitored and controlled remotely. Advanced DIY systems can be installed as a simple starter kit from as little as £239.99 with the option to add devices and functionality covering energy and appliances as well as home security. They can be connected to broadband to send notifications and alerts via telephone, text message, email and Twitter.

Thanks to advances in technology you have the potential to evolve your self-install DIY Alarm system from a security system to a complete home monitoring solution at the touch of a mouse.

A fully automated burglar alarm system with keypad or key fob entry and the potential to achieve complete home automation is available from market leaders http://www.home-halo.co.uk.

DIY alarm systems are becoming increasingly popular. The rising cost of insurance premiums and the credit crunch which has resulted in a rise in theft means that home-owners are now even more anxious to ensure their hard earned property and precious family heirlooms are kept safe. Even children’s toys are a target for thieves these days, especially at Christmas, as they know that most parcels are bound to contain expensive electronic toys and games which are easily resalable.

Many people feel sophisticated burglar alarm systems are too expensive and are only for large houses or estates and are seeking to install their own burglar alarm to protect their property. DIY alarm systems used to be very primitive in their form and design. Comprising a simple trip switch covering a specific area of the house, it was easy for burglars to find ways of by-passing the system by cutting the wires, or finding entry to the house via an unprotected area. Alarm systems now enable home owners to be notified of intruders, fire, flood, panic alarms, gas leaks and much, much more. New devices can be added such as cameras to view the activity in the home.

Fully wireless home and secure burglar alarm systems can be monitored and controlled remotely. Systems can be installed as a simple starter kit from as little as £239.99 with the option to add devices and functionality covering energy and appliances as well as home security. Now, your DIY Alarm System comes straight out of the box and can be connected to broadband to send notifications and alerts via telephone, text message, email and Twitter.

Because of the difficulties in the modern lifestyle of today, not even your home is a safe place from burglars any longer. It is a fact that many intruders attack unsecured homes over and over again. This is why if you want to protect your home and the people living in it from these intrusions and invasions, you have to set up a reliable home security system, there is simply no way around it. You do not have to spend so much in buying sophisticated equipments however. What you need is vigilance and some basic security measures. Read this article to learn more.

Locks

It is another fact that burglars adapt with technology in breaking in to your homes. Thus to avoid being one of their next victims, make sure you have an excellent locking system for all your windows and doors. You need to pay particular attention to your rear windows and side and patio doors. These entry points are the favorite of intruders. Therefore, heighten your home security in these areas. If possible, use multiple locks and include deadbolt locks particularly on patio doors made of glass.

Lighting

Bright lights are very discouraging for burglars. At night, make sure that your patio or backyard is lighted. Do not leave them dark, as they can attract the felonious acts of intruders. You can buy bright outdoor flood lights to illuminate your home at night at hardware stores. The simple measures of home security will prevent them from entering your house. Of course, they do not want their acts to be visible from the passerby in the streets and most of them get easily scared away if in danger of being noticed.

Bracing

Another important home security is to add steel bracing in your windows and your doors. These will add protection against a possible break in. However don’t overlook placing locks in the braces for added security.

Plants

If possible, place plants like cacti or rosebushes near your windows. Aside from adding beauty to your windows, this simple measure also makes your windows an unappealing entry point for thieves. No burglar will enjoy getting cactus thorns in their sensitive areas when trying to fled the site of crime.

Use Heavy Duty Drapes

Since burglars often act as Peeping Toms to your windows to figure out if anything is worth stealing from the room, do not provide them this temptation and use instead heavy duty drapes and curtains to cover and darken the inside of your home. With no assurance of what is waiting for them on the inside, this basic home security added step becomes deterrent for most home invasions.

Adding the right patio door window treatments will increase the safety and security of your home with little to no work from your part. Visit patio door curtains to learn more.

Living in West Hollywood, there is bound to be some drama. I was married to a man who seemed nice but turned out to be somewhat of a maniac. We were divorced shortly after our three week marriage on what seemed like amiable terms. However, his bitterness soon prompted him to appear in my house in the dark hours of night. Late at night, I would hear scuffling and come down to see him drinking tea or watching television. At first he did harmless things, but after a few weeks, I would find him there sharpening his weapons and looking at me with an evil glint in his eyes.

One night, I could not stand it anymore, and it did not matter that I locked my doors every night; he still managed to get in. It seems he made about a dozen copies of his spare key that I had ordered he return to me after the divorce. I lay in bed helpless when suddenly I remembered how helpful Yellow pages search had been to me in the past.

I went to the local search website and clicked on Locksmiths in West Hollywood and then chose my city, West Hollywood. Immediately, I was taken to the address and phone number of LA Locksmith. They helped me change all the locks on my house as well as on my car and storage shed. Though my ex tried to get in, he was out and soon he gave up and went on his merry way.

I was eternally grateful local searches for helping me get rid of a most annoying and dangerous pest. Their helpful and extensive listings allowed me to figure out exactly how to get the business service I needed and to have the work done in an efficient manner. I plan to visit this local search place many more times!

There is more to using locksmithing than just getting locked out of your car, office or home, resetting locks and key cutting. Your local Locksmith also holds the “key” to your home or office security. Whether you are looking for home or office monitoring systems, alarm systems, security cameras or help with padlocks or safes, locksmiths can get it done for you. There are many locksmithing services you can find and use in your local area. This is a basic guide to locksmithing services to help you discover what they really have to offer.

When you are looking for a Locksmith the first thing you need to do is search the Internet using one of those business resources search sites. Look up locksmiths and you will likely find quite a list of them in your area. You might also find ratings and reviews you can use to determine which one is the most trusted and reliable for the service you need.

Let’s review some of the services your local Locksmith might be able to provide to you.

* Safes – Installation, unlocking, cutting keys and safe cracking. This means all kinds of safes.
* Master Key Repair/Replacement – If you have a home or business where you use or need the same key for multiple locks, locksmiths can key multiple doors for one key for you or repair or replace multiple locks that use the same key.

Is there such a thing as a fully secure home? The answer is no – not completely – if a thief really wants to get into your home then he will. However, there are many measures that can be taken to make it virtually impossible to break in.

Take a look around your home. Look at your doors and windows. Are they in good, sound condition? If they are rotting or beyond repair then it is time to replace them. Doors should be fully secured with deadbolt door locks – pay particular attention to those doors on your property that are concealed. If they are sheltered then a burglar will have more time to work on them to get them open. He can also make more noise whilst doing it. There are a variety of locks on the market today for both windows and different types of doors. There is no excuse not to protect and secure them.

Study your yard and note overgrown bushes, trees and shrubs. These must be chopped to a sensible size. The problem with overgrown foliage is that burglars use these to hide behind and watch your property. They can watch you leave then make their move.

Be sure to have adequate lighting around the outside of your property. Exterior security lighting is a brilliant, cost effective way of stopping a burglar in his tracks and preventing him getting near to your property. A movement detector light is best as it will trigger when they get close.

Check over your garage, shed and outbuildings, are they secure? There are often many items of value such as bikes, lawn movers and garden equipment, tools as well as your car. If you store your ladder in these buildings then you will want to be especially sure that they are secure. Burglars often break into the outside buildings to find items like ladders and tools as they will use them to break into your property.

You could scatter some lose stones around the outside of your property and in particular, underneath windows. The reason is as someone walks on the stones they will make quite a noise and you will be aware of someone there. This will put the burglar off getting close to your property as he will not want to be heard.

A happy home is a safe and secure home. You must do your utmost and take action now to improve your home security. You and your family’s safety are at stake.

For lots more great ideas on improving your home security then check out securehomeadvice.com. For example installing a home security alarm system is highly effective in reducing the chance of burglary in your home.

There are many products on the market designed to protect the door against break ins but the problem is not just in the door. The door is only as secure as the jam is strong. I’ve had the unfortunate experience of being broken into twice in my life. Both times the door was intact but the jam lay shattered on the floor. It is true that we live in a very false sense of security in our home. I’m going tell you how I’ve secured my jam and the jams for many of my clients over the years. Understand that this is not a fail safe but extra security in a vulnerable location.

First you must understand just what secures your door. Your dead bolt and door latch protruding into a piece of 1x lumber and into a 2×4. The dead bolt has a plate that gets screwed into the 2×4. That plate is the extent of the security on your door. The door latch holds nothing. There is no security with the door latch.

So this is the simple way I’ve secured doors. First remove the molding on the latch side of the door. It starts with a 1 inch to 1.5 inch piece of angle iron about 3 to 4 feet long. This is the hardest part of the job. To make it look good you must then notch the 1x on the door side face and on the front edge to fit the angle flush into the wood. This notch may extend into the 2×4. Now mark for the door latch and the dead bolt and drill out the holes. Next drill the holes for the screws that will hold the angle in place and counter sink them so the screws are flush. Be sure to put a screw on both sides of the dead bolt and door latch and put screws down the face and the front so it is held from both directions. Once all screw holes are completed, install the iron using 4 inch deck screws. You will need to pre drill for screws this long. Once the screws are in place you can now re install the door molding. Drill through the steel for your nails if you need to. Next, using self drilling screws install your latch plates. With a little caulk and paint you will hardly know it is there.

What makes this work is the over all length of the steel. An intruder may break the wood at the latches but to kick the whole iron out is almost impossible. After a few good kicks the intruder will move on because of all of the noise he is creating in trying to enter your property. Remember always try to have a good alarm system to protect against break ins. This is just one more way to help keep you and your family safe.
